This of course is anecdotal but I sure have been seeing a good number of blue grouse shed hunting hiking turkey hunting this past month. See 10 to 15 every time I go out and hear them drumming everywhere. This in Yakima and Kittitas counties

Yeah last year was a great year! First time I've ever ran out of bullets, took a 22 not shooting straight with me while bear hunting. Let's just say about 10 grouse got away that day! A 22 not shooting straight and only 15 bullets was a recipe for disaster! That is definitely not happening again. Hope there is a good hatch this year.

Last year was the best year in recent memory for me for grouse sightings. Hoping this year is just as strong, as I'll have the packable 22 in my pack at all times this year.

Highest numbers I recall seeing in many years as well. Curious if it remains the same throughout this fall. Might be inclined to believe in the "circle theory" if it holds up........

I've heard good things from folks spending time outdoors more regularly than I. Last year was pretty great from where I stood.
