For Sale: Fleshing Machine (taxidermy)
« on: June 08, 2019, 03:33:59 PM »
Selling a fleshing machine that has barely been used. Was used about 5 years ago by a taxidermist in Issaquah and I purchased it from her when she was moving onto other hobbies. I never used it, however I started it to make sure the motor works. Includes everything you need to start fleshing. Would go best mounted on a table (that is what they are designed for).
Taxidermists know what these are.....but even if you are just a hunter and/or trapper looking to cut down on your fleshing time at home, this may also be good for you.

This is basically a "clone" of a Dakota fleshing machine sold by Van Dyke, McKenzie and others. The most basic, lowest HP Dakota model they all sell is around $700-$750. Plus shipping and tax.
The one I'm selling has a 1/2 HP motor so the taxidermy supply shops sell a comparable 1/2 HP model for around the $800 range I believe. Light surface rust on some of the metal from sitting in my shop but no issues and will clean up really nice.

$350

Cash only. No lowballers.

Located in Snohomish County.

Try posting on Taxidermy.net, of course that will probably require shipping.  But you have a limited audience on here for a specific item like this.

Here’s what I’ve found seen, the good Dakota flesh era in taxidermy.net go for 350-450 used.  That’s worth a try on there, but may need to drop price being off brand and not as easy to get parts like “Dakota”. Just my 2 sense! Good luck
