Years ago I tromped around that area with my Uncle who is now 80! He showed me how really rough this country is out there and Yes there are a few Grizzlies in this area as well. I would suggest hunting at or near the lake edges which holds large spances of Marsh grasses. Bring waders that are light-weight/hikable and to walk in with. The Army Rangers train and use this corner of the state for survival training in this area as well. GOOD LUCK! GET lots of PICS!!!

Got the bull magnet from JoeE, not much left to get or plan for, almost game time for my OIL hunt.  Trying not to think about it too much, 4 days of work this week then I’m off to camp on Friday morning. A local and family member is showing us around on Saturday and them a local and member here will show us around Sunday, can’t thank all that have helped enough. My last scout trip we were up by a warming hut, cool place. Found a clear cut that is 4 miles behind one of too many gates, taking the spotting scope Friday to check it out!  We are both holding out for good bulls, hope a 35” bull doesn’t step out the first day!

Well, one week away!!  My finger and toe nails are clipped, tag and license are in my pack.  Don’t have a moose found yet but I’ll be scouting Thursday - Monday.  I feel like I’ve prepared as much as possible and still stay married and keep a job.  Been a great time and frustrating getting to know this unit, can’t say how much the help is appreciated.  The weather couldn’t be better, cool and wet, possible snow up higher this weekend.  Hopefully the rut gets them out of the thick crap!  Nerves are starting to ravel a bit, still hard to believe I’m about to go moose hunting!!

I know but I still felt I needed to pass along that hot tip to ensure a good moose hunt. Lot of folks overlook the these tried and true tactics :chuckle:

Jerry I really think you would have killed it if you brought back your hair do from the 1982 era! Is your hair naturally curly or was that manufactured?!
