Drew huckleberry late moose
« on: June 18, 2019, 08:59:01 PM »
I finally drew the moose tag with my 24 points.  I know the population is down and I’m not going to see the numbers there were 10 years ago.  I live in the area know it pretty well and have had friends kill moose in this unit in the past.  Just wanted to post in here been a little while since I’ve drawn a quality tag but I posted before when drew the entiat tag.  When I drew the tag I had lots of help and input from you guys that helped me harvest a dandy buck.  I’m just posting if any of you guys are experts in the area and want to help or know where a big bull may be.   Anything helps with hunting.  I promise will post pictures and updates if I have a successful hunt.  I have pretty much the whole season to hunt so I will be pretty selective.  Hope you all have great hunting seasons I know it’s my favorite time of the year!!

Good luck coues and 270.  Hope we all have some cool stories and get a decent bull. Keep me posted if you don’t mind.  Will help you out if I tag out and have some bulls I’ve found 270.

Coues and 270, how many points did you guys have? I'm sitting on max points and see that there are a couple other tag winners that state they used up their 24 points.  Just curious about yours.  Sure like to think that sooner or later there won't be many "max" point holders left and I will have a slight edge on others.  It's been a couple years, but there were only about 125 max point holders the last time I looked.

Good luck on your hunts!  You deserve it just based upon the number of years it took you to get the tag!

I think I had 19?  Every last point helps here, but having max in WA isn't nearly as important as other states that have a true preference system.

Jeff, congrats on the moose tag, I'm still one of the many with max points waiting for the opportunity.  I think the late tag is preferable due to being able to see better.  Nothing like being able to spot a 4x8 sheet of black plywood at two miles with 8x30 Swaros.  Less bees to contend with while processing and moose in November don't stink like cat piss!  Good luck and let me know if I can help in any way.  TG

Red marble is a great place to start looking for your bull. Seen some monsters up there in years past.
