Great day of hunting
« on: July 24, 2019, 08:43:18 PM »
It was a great day for hunting shrooms. I went to check a few elk and grouse spots for this fall. Grabbed the mushroom bag just in case last weeks rain brought some shrooms out. Got a nice batch for dinner. Breaded fried pork loin, mushroom and onions in a heavy cream sauce along with potato dumplings.

Chanterelles?   That's impressive for this time of year.  You obviously know your area well and when the rain brings them out.  Nice work

Yes they were chanterelles. Thought I may run into a lobster or two but no luck.

That's a fine looking meal. Another one of my favorites is bringing  the shot gun in the fall and getting a grouse or two for dinner.
