Slug Shotgun Recommendations
« on: July 06, 2019, 08:27:07 AM »
I live in a firearms restriction unit and will be buying a new shotgun to shoot slugs. I know I will get a 20ga, rifled barrel, synthetic and I will mount a scope on it. I am leaning towards semi automatic for reduced recoil as my daughters will also shoot it. Of course money is tight and I am on a budget. Do any of you have any recommendations or experience you can share?

Thanks in advance!

Cabelas has the Remington Express right now for under 300.00, slap a slugger barrel and scope and you got it. I'd go 20 ga

I love my H&R and they are very accurate. Maybe the most accurate single shot slug gun, but they quit making them  :(

If you find a used one in good shape, scoop it up.  :twocents:

Slugs kick hard.  Just saying, but mine were 12 ga.  Sighting in a scope, and shooting 20+ rounds for groups.  It was a brutal afternoon.

I'd get a muzzleloader. Sabots are a rip.

Just went out and shoot mine today at MRC
Rem 580 w/ a Hastings rifled barrel and Nikon Slugmaster
Hitting the gongs at 225
Not a cheap barrel or ammo but well worth it.
One shot. One kill!
