Sitka Question for Eastern WA
« on: July 08, 2019, 02:32:47 PM »
Hey Team,

Looking into Sitka gear for this season. Just wondering what pattern people in Eastern WA chose? Marsh or Timber?

Site says Timber is good for blinds and open water, and I'd likely get that if I were back on the west side of Oregon still. But marsh seems like the color to get here, and not just for land hunts. Would Marsh be okay for our area? I'm thinking of hunts on the Pend Oreille and such.

I usually hunt my White tails in wheat fields too, so I figured it could pull double duty  :chuckle:

Let me know what you think!

Camo pattern is irrelevant, thats what i think.  Get whichever floats your boat.

I tend to agree with that. Any will work as long as your outline is broken up, you limit your movement and keep shiny things like your face, concealed.

Thanks for the input! Sounds like Marsh it is (because it floats my boat  :) )

If I was buying it I'd go timber. All those marsh/corn patterns seem too light usually, if that's what you're worried about. If I was buying just by preference I like the marsh better.

My Sitka coats are marsh color.  I hunt just over the border from you in N Idaho.

Marsh for me, blends in real well with brush and cattails in Eastern Wa. But yeah I’ve killed plenty of birds before getting Sitka but it sure is a nice upgrade.
