Usually close to Aug. 10th.  WDFW usually sends out a release on the date.

I checked out some sporting goods stores and discovered none of them had experience with multi-season leftovers. Any sporting goods chains that routinely have applicants?

Where I live all of them.  Last year there was 2 guys at the local store 3-4 hours before the draw.

With that said that was for Elk.  Deer you can usually show up the next day and still get one.

There are about 100 elk tags left over, should take about 3 seconds to sell them.  I won't be part of the game this year, good luck, be first in line and have someone at the counter that knows what they are doing.

I called Monday.  They were not yet sure what the date would be.  Likely sometime between 10 - 15 August.

I learned to not rely on WDFW to send out an email or make an announcement. Last year I did not get the email, and when I called asking about the date the tags were going on sale, it just happened to be the day they went on sale. So I missed the chance to attempt getting an multi-season elk tag.  The WDFW employee that I spoke to apologized and said that he didn't the email either, "...and I work here."

When I called the WDFW to ask about this, the person I talked to said that they have yet to ever sell out of the multiseason deer tags (though they're getting closer to doing so every year).

Of coarse they are not going to sell out. Why would they when its cash in their hand and they are not the least bit concerned about game management. There could be zero animals and they would still sell tags.
