Beautiful Chocolate Bear
« on: August 31, 2019, 07:06:00 PM »
I am proud to have harvested my 4th black bear ever in this gorgeous chocolate colored black bear. I shot it at 301 yards with my 30-06. This is the 9th bear I've seen this season.

shot one Saturday that I could not find. Spent the night on the mountain looking for him and next morning. Only guess is it crawled in one of the 1000’s of caves and died.

Nice!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I think those are just pine needles stuck in his mouth/nose from me dragging him. I cook it in a variety of ways; meatloaf, crock pot stew,  tacos,  burgers,  etc. I am getting it butchered into half sausage and half ground meat.
