Got my first blacktail on sat. Caught him bedded with a doe. He has a goofy looking rack.
Is the right side broken?

2019 was the toughest hunting year in the last 20 years for me, but glad I finally got it done. 60 yard shot with with the .270 shooting the 150 grain whitetail XP. Deer didn’t even move after impact.

I have trailcam pics of this guy, surprised he lasted this long.
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Yes, the bullet hole was the “deer” I shot. I don’t know if it was the moon phase, warm weather, domestic dogs chasing deer all over the place or a combination of the 3, but I barely saw any deer at all. There definitely wasn’t any sign the rut was kicking in. Two spikes and a fork horn over 9 days was all I saw for bucks. I guess that means next year will be a turnaround year.

I didn’t even think about the wild ID, thank you.
