Bear divergent, went with bear moment
« on: September 21, 2019, 05:31:29 PM »
So I’m looking into getting a bow. I’ve been using my older brothers Hoyt vector 32 and love it but my pocket book isn’t as deep as his. So I’ve been really interested in the Bear divergent. I was wondering what people’s thoughts and experiences were with it, or is anyone had other recommendations for around the same price range.

I was thinking that. But hard to find and when they come up there like Bigfoot. It’s hard to trust the seller to. On here I don’t mind as much. I’ve done a ton of buying selling and trading. I’ll havd to keep my eye out.

I agree with you on buying used.  Always makes me nervous.  You can also find some pretty good mark downs in archery shops once bow manufacturers start releasing their new flagship bows.

The other part is as long as you've shot the Divergent and it works for you and fits your budget - go for it.  Bear hasn't been in this industry for as long as they have for making a crappy product.

Get one that works for you - get in the game - shot for as long as you want - sell it and get another one.  By the time you sell it used you might be in different situation financially and buy whatever you like.   That was my situation.

I was trying to go to the local bow shop but apparently who ever runs it is never there and you can never reach. So that’s been frustrating. I haven’t shot the divergent but want to before I’d buy one obviously but the store that locally has them looked at me like I was an idiot when I asked about them and if I was able to shot and arrow through one.  :dunno:

Well I got a pm yesterday about a sale going on and it paid off! I scored a bear moment. Shot it just with a whisker biscuit to get a feel for it and absolutely love it. Now the struggle, I’ve been mulling over sights. I’m leaning towards the Spot Hogg fast Eddie. Does anyone shot with this sight or have a recommendation for a sight?

I shoot a tommy hogg.  Very similar and to be honest I can't remember why I chose it over the fast eddie.  I'm sure it was a well researched decision on my part but those often don't turn out well for me any!  A lot folks have a lot of opinions on sites.  I think spot hogg makes one heck of a bomb proof product.  Bottom line is similar to selecting a bow you have to try them out to see what works.  Good news I've found with buying well liked products is if it doesn't work out for you it can be sold at a small lose and you can go a different route.

Congrats on getting the bow!

This is true. I guess I will pull the trigger and try out the fast Eddie and see what comes of it.

And thanks.
