Youth deer hunt help
« on: September 28, 2019, 06:59:31 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone could point me to an area that I could possibly get my 9 year old son on some deer preferably in an any deer youth gmu like 124. We hunted hard last year with not even a sight of one except on private land of course. I'd like for him to at least have a chance at one. Thank you in advance.

I’m not much help  on any specific spot. My son also started hunting when he was nine, he’s now 13 and has harvested a deer three out of the four years. His first year he struck out also. The last three years I have ran several different bait pile‘s with cameras on them that he has shot a deer off of twice, and one on the way.   Not really my style of hunting and I hope as he gets older he would like to get out and go find them a little bit more but for when they’re young it does the trick to get them into it.
