Have you ever noticed a glare through the scope from the light reflecting off the muzzle device?  I ran into that issue with mine recently. Quick fix was to remove the muzzle device.

People say to mount the light UNDER the barrel ideally, but only time I have an issue is when I go to full flood, which I never do, I almost always have it focused all the way down, just enough to light up my FOV or less is all I need.

Two nights ago I took a shot at a yote at around 200yds, zero wind, and the smoke from the shot blanked out my view for a minute, so I might look into putting the light under the barrel, thinking the can maybe will shield my view some if that happens again. We will see.

Here is the first night I took the setup out, video of a buddy shooting. Ive got it more figured out now. Not sure how far the coyote was when we first sighted it, it was before I had the ABL range finder installed. But it was about 150yds when he shot.

That makes sense putting the light under the barrel to eliminate the glare.  I suspect the smoke from the shot becoming a blinding light will continue to be an issue even with the light under the barrel though.

Its possible, here is a night shot at my target though...  It may have just been the weather the other night, it was getting foggy.  Check this one out, you can see the bullet, haha. I love this scope. Im going to get a day only version for my grendel.

I like the illuminator on the side, frees up the bottom for bipod, sleds, bags and other shooting aids. I don't get a glare.

Here's my current setup.  7.62x39.  Sightmark photon 4.5x zoom scope.  T50 10W IR illuminator from ebay mounted on the side.  Haven't taken any coyotes with it yet but it's just a matter of time.

That's a relatively inexpensive package. Have you used it?
