Pretty quiet today..few rubs but they aren't serious rut type rubs...just playing around rubs...ive noticed some local town town/ pet type deer may be chasing does...but the well off the road, public land deer are acting as they should for this time of year...still got a week or so...

Mom had the big buck (4x5) one of three she saw in August in the yard last night about  530. Said she walked to within 30 feet of him before he finally decided to walk the other way. She said he had his nose to the ground like a hunting dog, while he looked up several times he paid her no mind at all. She has a good rub on a 5" diameter pine tree in her yard too. She lives in south Kitsap area.

Hmmm. Tried to post some from my property.  They are definitely out there.
If hunting was easy, they'd call it killing....

Never judge a man til you walk a mile in his shoes.  That way when you do judge him, you will have a mile head start and he will have no shoes.

Better angle on the two brothers.  They didn’t care at all that I walked within 50 feet of them

Report from Lewis county
Multiple bucks and does spotted out during the day light.
Two bucks harvested, a 4 point and a small 3x1.
My hunting partner had a chance at a different 4 point and a forky just didn’t come together for him.
Almost all the bucks had does with them.

Didn’t see anything this morning while hunting, but saw a 3 pt buck run/walking on the side of the road in Gorst on the way back home.

This guy came into one of my spots for the first time last night... I've been tracking a lot of bucks in and out - this guy is new.   I think I had him on cam about 2 months early about 2.5mi away as the crow flies...

Also found this new rub that is fresh within the last 24h.  It's getting close, boys!

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
