Got one yesterday!

That ones antlers are bigger than mine!!   I had to hit him with the binos before I was confident enough to shoot. Found him in his bed and thankfully he just stood there and gave me the time to check and then get a shot.

The late General season activity seemed pretty slow this year.  I felt the early dates were the reason for the lack of activity.  I suspected a second round of chasing or other rutting activity would happen around the 19th or 20th.

Bucks indeed were following the does around down here in the middle of the nights a few days ago.  Had a small three-point that I'd never seen before suddenly make an appearance one night, then the next day he followed a mom, daughter and fawn in during broad daylight.  The camera time is off by an hour in the pic - the sun is still up.  Many, many deer in the yard nightly picking up the last of the apples -

Had a couple good laughs watching this familiar buck standing on his hind legs hopping around to pick the apples out of the tree.  I got some great vids of this activity.

Rut should be pretty well done by the time late archery gets going on the 27th.  Had a fun year though.  Lots of memories.
