looking for help finding a missing fishing rod part
« on: November 16, 2019, 10:14:30 AM »
I know this is a long shot but said I would try. I want to replace a broken section of an
Eagle Claw 7 1/2 foot Spin Fly Combo rod No 601 .

I specifically need/want the third section of the four piece rod.

This rod has Sentimental value to someone very close to me. (otherwise I would just buy a new one for 30.00 bucks or so)

Hoping someone has a similar one for parts.

Thanks for looking
Terry

I might have what you're looking for.  If I don't get back to you in a day or two PM me.

The one I have is sort of an antique.  Comes in a metal container for backpacking.  I'll look for it later and send a picture.  What county are you in?

Maybe this will help:

Thanks Kisfish, for your time and effort. Christmas is just around the corner and this would be a special surprise.

Pman, thanks for the link. I will check it out

I don’t know if they still do this, but I have the same rod and broke the tip.
Called Eagle claw customer service and asked if I could buy a replacement piece
They took my info and a week later a whole new rod showed up
No charge

Then I retipped the old one and ended up with 2 great pack rods

Jeffro,
I sent them an e mail and never heard back from them so I didn't peruse it. Guess I will give them a call.
Thanks for the suggestion.

If its old enough (circa 70s), they used to come with a lifetime warranty.  I won one for a pic my grandpa submitted to Montana Fishing and Hunting News back in 76ish? and I promptly broke it a few years later.  After reporting my mishap to Eagle Claw, they sent me a brand new pole and case which I still have and have really never used  ;).  Wondering how old yours is and if it in fact falls under the old lifetime warranty (not sure how long they had that but I assume perhaps into the 80s?).
