Determining huntable land
« on: November 16, 2019, 06:01:11 PM »
Can someone point me in a direction to determine whether or not local regulations allow for hunting on public land?  For instance, between Yakima and Naches there are several chunks of land labeled as Dept of Fish and Wildlife, Yakima County Public Services, state of Washington, Yakima County, City of Yakima, and Yakima County flood control services.  Ultimately I guess I'm trying to figure out what city and county rules are in place for Yakima and Naches regarding hunting within city limits.
I'm having another knee surgery on Friday and my end of the year hunting isn't going to happen.  It would be nice to have some close locations for easy jump hunting for ducks.

Most likely you will have to contact or search the entitys themselves. From my experiences the cities ive checked don't allow hunting on any of their owned land.

I've wondered about those chunks you are referencing as well.

There was a good buck smacked on I82 that was hanging out at the gap parcel.   I assume someone road claimed him in short order.   I was headed on a trip looking for mr big, so didn’t bother.
