Brewster/Pateros Walleye Guide
« on: November 25, 2019, 10:41:20 AM »
Cooking up a Xmas gift for my dad who has wanted to catch walleye/burbot for years. Anyone have recommendations? He is in Winthrop so Brewster/Pateros is preferable. I would be thinking of a spring trip.

Thanks!

A little bit out of the Brewster area but I've been out with YJ guide service and have another trip on the books for this winter to go out for walleye with him. He fishes out of lake Roosevelt but we had an absolute blast and went in never having fished walleye.

Hit up YJ Guide service.  Site sponsor. Lots of good posts by him on here.

You might also check into Hurd's Guide Service. Both Stu (Hurd) and Dewayne (Darlington) are top-notch fisherman on that stretch of the river.

Another is Brad Wagner at Bobber Down Guide Service. Probably the funnest and funniest guys I've ever met, and he catches fish, too!

You'll want to do Lake Roosevelt for the best chance at a Burbot and best walleye fishing! Lake Roosevelt Charters. A buddy just went with them and did extremely well. They limited on walleye and got a couple burbot. I just started fishing for burbot, through the ice....what a blast! When you catch a big one, they have a lot of tail to throw around and fight!

And yes, I've heard good things about YJ Guide Service as well. He gets on the burbot mostly starting now through January, I believe. January is best because they are pre-spawn and stacked in the Spokane Arm.
