Wolves kill dogs

It's a little graphic but it shows what we face with these wolves. Think this happened in Canada maybe

 not sure  but could be in your backyard next.

With little to no fear wolf packs have no boundaries. I know a guy in MT pre wolf hunts that had a hound snatched right in front of him at 100 yds. He was riding horseback letting his dog free cast and a big wolf came out of the timber, and by the time he got up there his dog was dead.

That was hard to watch, they better not ever try that with my dogs!!!

Out hiking one spring I had a single wolf come a littler closer and eye my Lab for for a few minutes before retreating slowly over the ridge. Started paying more attention to my dog after that incident.

Been lucky over the years to not lose any to wolves. Pretty sure I got to our dogs just in time one day. Had tracks circle us had a big female treed that day. Have lost two dogs to lions. Stories for another day.

 When they kill dogs the only thing left basically is their heads. They eat the dog and it doesn't take long for them to do it.

This is why using coyote calls is an effective way to call them. Very territorial to other k9s. Especially towards end of February beginning of March. Have a friend that has them show up that time almost every year. He lives in the mts and has a kennel full of hounds. I shot my wolf less than a half mile from his house.

Ever heard of anyone who hunts wolves by calling with dog sounds?

Don't know anything about hounds or wolves, just curious if anyone has tried that approach. Seems like it might work as much as I hear about wolves homing in on dogs

Ya game warden told us one time in montana to cage trap a coon and call them in using our dogs. We never did it but given the right opportunity I'm sure it would work. Pretty sure they have hound sounds downloaded to put on ecallers...

Didn't watch the video, but I guarantee if any animal is threatening my dogs life it's getting shot.

This has been happening in Norther Wisconsin for 20 years or more.  One of my cousins lost a bear dog to a pack back then.

A friend of mine in Eagle River Alaska was telling me they were losing dogs to wolves in the park in town.  A lone wolf would appear at the edge of the woods and act like it wanted to play with the off leash dogs...then run in the woods when the dogs chased it.  Then the pack would eat their dog/s.  I'm sure it'd be horrifying to observe.
