MMP sells sabots for 54cal. 54x.500 purple using a .499-.500 diameter bullet. I used to have a 54 cal Knight mk85 and shot .500 cal pistol bullets with good success. 90-100 grns 777 powder. You just missed out..I just sold my remaining stock of sabots and bullets.

I shoot a 54 cal T/C Black Diamond....
It's old.

I shoot 400 grain hard cast lead bullets that are great for deer/elk.
They are from harvester.   Google up Harvester hard cast lead bullets and they should pop up.

My son has the same gun in 50 cal and shoots the exact same 45 cal 400 grain bullet only with a 50 cal sabot where I shoot a 54 (of course).

Your biggest problem might be the twist rate of the barrel. I am assuming it is 1/48?  That limits the length of the bullet you might shoot and achieve stabilization.  However they a 50 cal. lead copper bullets that could work very well. They really are short.
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

The twist rate of a TC Fire hawk is 1 in 38 I had a TC System 1 54 cal back in the day but I think it was a 1 in 28 twist I have been researching and a lot of what I have found is saying they think the 1 in 38 is better for a 54 cal than the 1 in 28 so I guess if it's on the ninny net it's true right??? Lol

The 1/38 is better than the 1/48 for your plan.  Lyman made a 1/32 that worked very well.
