did you guys get on the feed truck? That is a "must do" with the kiddo's if you've never done it.

Unfortunately we did not. Next time I'll certainly be calling ahead to get us on the truck.

Spikes are not endangered, just being selected genetically out of existence.  There will always be a problem child or two around

I saw a bigfoot riding a spike one time, they were chasing a unicorn.   :chuckle:

there's always a bunch of spikes leftover after season. It always kind of amazes me after the chaos of fall  :chuckle:

Was there today for 1:30 feeding. Volunteer said yesterdays count 385 head. Last week 450+. Maybe 8 spikes seen. Two big bodied boys that have shed their headgear. Not many bulls but about 4 dandy 6X6's. The guy said they are cutting back on feed. Only one feed truck going out daily now and no ride along truck today. Big bunch of elk stayed way up on the hill and didnt come down at feed time.

lot of bulls never even came down very low this year and a good majority of the ones that did come down have already started back up.  I glassed quite a few elk up around 4,000ft yesterday.  Always a win for the critters when they don't have to fall back on man to survive winter even though it makes the viewing at oak creek a bit lame

I saw more spikes in late archery this year than I think I've seen in all my years elk hunting combined.
