Has anyone ever sent their .22 rifle to Lapua for test shooting?
« on: February 20, 2020, 07:54:59 PM »
Lapua has a 22 ammo testing facility that you can send your rifle to and they will find the best load for your rifle.... for $50. I enjoy the process, but this almost seems like a no brainer from a cost and time standpoint.

Has anyone ever done this?

I bought a Bergara B14R and am excited to get it dialed and try a few 22 PRS matches.

What a cool job that guy must have! Just playing with everyone’s sweet 22 builds all day. That’s a dandy you have there!
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short.

Do they get it dialed in with Lapua ammo only?  Lapua is extremely accurate, but very costly.

That would be my guess,  couldn't see them sending it back and saying it likes CCI .  :chuckle:

This is a standard thing for indoor Olympic style smallbore shooting.  Most serious shooters have done this.  Eley offers the same thing and I think SKS does as well.  Yes, they will only test Lapua ammo.  Their recommendation will be very specific and you should buy all you can afford at the time, since they will probably recommend a particular lot# that your rifle likes.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Yep, that's what I am being told... sounds like they will hook you up with a specific dealer or send the lot number to your dealer.

I'm going to be in Scottsdale for work in May and thinking I might as well do this.

I did this with my Anschutz competition rifle, but that was another story.  I would buy two cases of a single lot when it was dialed in.  10k rounds for the season.  I would personally would try some different brands yourself.  I had some good results with CCI and Fiochi.  Half that of the Eley 10X that I used to shoot.
