There are three fishing groups, this covers one.  The other two may close but it isn’t across the board as of the announcement.

I didn’t realize this thread was covering the other 2 user groups. My bad.

Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

No worries, I’m glad WDFW found a way to protect the ESA stocks without a full closure.

In my opinion, shut everything for two weeks and be done with it.  Buy your grub, take care of your neighbors and hunker down.

The other 2 would be considered food industry, don't count on them closing.

i agree with everyone this sucks, but, it was inevitable.
Problem is everyone looking for the damn gray area and how they could be exempt and still go fishing
"but my boats gassed up already" "but I already have tackle"
people don't understand THEIR impact, all they think about is their own personal gratification.
just be glad this s storm isnt going on during the summer king season, or hali season.
take some time, go over your gear, fix your boat and trailer wiring, and spend some damn time with your family at home.

You honestly think this won't go past these dates? That's naive.

never said that.
i'm trying to be optimistic about dealing with the situation.  it blows.
i wont turn this political, all im saying is we're at where we are..so now we have to deal with it.
what's frustrating to me is how everyone thinks that they can do whatever the hell they want and ignore guidance or regulations because they don't see the impacts they have.
you are in a unique situation, you can hop on your boat from your home and fish with basically zero human interaction, out of your own backyard.
the problem are the people who are now off from work, who want to go to their favorite river spot 60 miles away, or go to the coast and go fishing, or tote their kids down to the local lake along with 15 other families with the same idea.
ive been kicked in the nuts by WDFW and i'm sure itll happen again (likely soon)

It’s not the people looking for a grey area to go fish that’s the problem, it’s the millions still working and hitting the stores and gas stations that will continue the spread. I think for the most part people are just complaining about the closure, they aren’t actually going fishing.

My question is then, not to you specifically but in general, why is the anger towards the fishing closure and not all the other stuff still open?

I think that is the most frustration, It’s been said. It’s the low hanging fruit that will change the least. A lot more need me to be shut down to get the spread slowed down.
