Are people still fishing?
« on: March 18, 2020, 11:51:07 AM »
I've been out/sidelined with an elbow injury but was curious if people are still going out fishing during all the C19 stuff?

No 'shelter in place' issued yet but what say you?

If I am the only one in my truck, drive straight to the lake, am the only one on my boat and then drive straight home, I should be good right? No protesters? Rock throwers? Won't get pulled over for unnecessary travel?  :dunno:

As far as I can tell theres no restrictions on fishing, traveling, hiking etc as long as its in a group of less than 50.. Im hoping theres a couple day buffer if they issue a shelter in place to get things wrapped up with work but who knows

Again, leave alone, fish alone, stop for nothing, return home. I just don't see a problem right now unless they make the SIP order. Just don't want to run into closed access.

I was hoping to get out and catch some of those "muddy, icky, crab bait planted trout" at Dalton lk. this week but a discovery of mouse damage to the wires under the hood of one of my vehicles has me thinking more about that  >:( What a mess.

I'd like to get out on the Snake above or below Munumental now that its clearing up and hit a few spots. Never really fished it this time of year and curious if i could get anything to bite.

Id like to fish the inlet at Soda lake now that the irrigation water is flowing.

Fishing in groups of 50 or more, that rules out Steelhead on the Snoqualmie or Sky or chum on the Puyallup!  :chuckle:

I've been fishing about every other day. By myself. Don't go on the weekend or there will be 50 or more go by in boats about every 2 hours.

I'm stuck working from home, but my husband is out fishing right now. The flow on the Snake looks a lot better, hopefully it has cleared up since the last time we checked and it was very murky. The Yakima is still poor visibility.

I agree.  The problem is if we stop for gas, stop for bait, stop for twinkees and then pick up a few buddies before we get to the lake.  We have to think in terms of absolutely limiting the human to human interaction, not activities or artificial numbers (groups of 10, groups of 50).

Been fishing 9 and 6 hitting 12 tomorrow, it’s been good but I have been having bad luck with hatchery to wild ratio.
