Best electric bike?
« on: March 19, 2020, 02:20:53 PM »
Looking for info from guys in the know about e bikes, from what I’ve learned the mid drive motor is best for our terrain here in the northwest. Looking at the 750 watt, and if Trump sends us money, prob spend around $2,000.  Any recommendations? Don’t need to hear the bashing about them, heard it all.

Look at "Bikes Direct" website. You pay close to wholesale and not for a brand name. Same drives though..
Did Trump hurt your feelings?

rad rover are great for flats or slight inclines.  Look at a middrive motor for steeper country. :twocents:

I have loved my Radrover so far. I have put about 200 miles on it in the last couple months riding the logging roads in western Washington. It's not a mid drive but it works great for where im riding. I could probably get 25 miles or so on one charge and that's with a fair amount of climbing.

If you want one of the best, buy a Specialized, can't go wrong. Mid drive, great warranty, lightweight and will go for ever on a charge.

Specialized but a little more than $2000 I don’t think Rads are mid drive

Yep, rads are hub driven but do well for most terrain around these parts. Its hard to beat their price point. Bolton ebikes makes some pretty good upgrades for the rover to get it closer to the mid drive torque performance.

I am really looking at the Rambo Roamer 750, it’s a mid drive and around 2,400. The reviews are good.

My buddy has the Rad Roamer and has been pretty happy with it. He has a couple hundred miles on it now on the Peninsula and it is holding up well so far.
