Has anyone ever found out what they do with these reports? Do they tabulate the data? Do they throw the reports in the circular file? If the reports are tabulated, where can I view the data?
I want to see the nuisance caught beaver numbers versus the trapper caught beaver numbers compared over the past ten years or so. I assume this information is available, or is it?

I thought you had to print copy and take it in.Is there a place online to report?

No, save the pdf file to your computer, fill it in and e-mail it.  I got confirmation back that they received it....since I accidentally mailed them a blank copy first.  :) Oops!  The e-mail address is right on the form you fill in.

Hmm,
I don't buy those numbers. I don't see marten listed as being caught, I know of several.

Wags: They have not had a Marten column since maybe the 80s. I have always been suspicious of that. Also why not distinguish between striped and spotted skunks.
I have never seen NWCO numbers.
Bare in mind, its only been for the last, approx 5 years wdfw has givin a rip about our harvest numbers. Nowadays they crunch the numbers every year or two. Before approx 5 years ago they were always 5-6 years behind posting the numbers. They never got caught up. Frustrating when a trapper used to try to manage their line or prospect a new area.
Yet! The penalty for not turning in a trapping report, that they dont treat professionally, is $50 or $70 or there a bouts. While the penalty for not turning in a hunter report is $10.
Apologys in advance if this rant posts twice. Ha ha.

Also, sadly, wdfw numbers pretty much were fact in, S"@/ out. I have reported harvest in a specific county only for them to enter zero as their number. Nowadays with their new form mine is pretty much S"&/ in too.

Bruce was going to be asking about WCO numbers in the coming weeks.  We had talked about it inthis thread:

May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

On the comparing trapper caught beaver to WCO problem beaver. That could be bad data. Cause I am a new trapper and this year I got 4 beaver, and they where all problem beaver for landowners and that's why they are letting me trap there land. They want them gone, killing apple trees and causing flooding. I have a few people asking me to trap there land next year because they have beaver trouble. So I am a trapper, trapping problem beavers, and just not getting paid for it. But getting new places to trap and learn. And NOT a WCO so my hunch is there's more than just me in that boat. So those numbers wouldn't be worth much. I bet over half the "trapper" caught beaver are really problem beavers. Odd thing, must not be much of a beaver trapper, because I got 4 otters while trying to catch those 4 beavers... lol But I am going to keep trying ;)

Whether a beaver is causing someone a problem, caught in season or out of season by a WCO they all should be on your Trappers report of Catch and so compiled with seasonal catch numbers by DFW.
The only ones not listed on your report of catch are animals caught with a Special trapping permit. Those numbers should be captured separately when you file end of permit report. I'm still not sure if or when those numbers are added in.
