Looking for a place to get away from the crowds? Want to learn how to be more self-sufficient? Buy my house.

Located on Decatur Island in the San Juan Island Archipelago of Washington State. The house is a three bedroom one and a half bath 1852 foot split level with a daylight basement on five beautiful acres with a peek-a-boo view of water and sunsets. Structures on the property include a 24X36 garage with carport and a 24X36 shop as well as a 16X18 covered chicken run and coop. Also included is a 2600 square foot fenced garden space, apple trees, and a deep reliable well. Heat is provided by an oil stove. There is plenty of room to raise animals, though fencing would be needed. The island has reliable power and relatively high speed internet.

Included with the house will be one pickup, a 10' sailboat, a 12' Livingston power dinghy, appliances and most furnishings.

Also included... me, for a period of one year. I can provide transportation with my 24' covered cabin boat some of the time, I will teach you how to garden, fish, hunt (if desired), butcher game/stock, cure meat, preserve food, make beer and/or wine, and do some construction.

A little more about me, I am married, my wife works on the mainland, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology and a Masters in Teaching. I've been a general contractor for almost twenty years. I have experience in all of the above mentioned activities and would love to share my knowledge with you. The house needs some work (a list will be provided) which will be completed in the year that I am there helping you become self-sufficient.

Our island is 3 1/2 square miles and has about 40 year round residents with a burgeoning summer population. There is a small store on the island that is open seasonally and a one room K-8 school in the Lopez School District. There are two passenger shuttle companies that also serve the island and a barge for vehicles and larger loads.

Serious inquiries only please.  $400K     Also available as-is.

The deer are going to be happy when your gone.🤣

Donít forget to add the boat in the barn, that would really sweeten the deal.😉

Hauled lots of concrete over there, great people on the island.  Was happy when the old woody went down, and Island Transport replaced it with a steel transport.

Loki is a stand-up guy and knows his way around.  If I hadn't escaped the wet side and moved east I would seriously consider this!

I've also known Ed for some time now, he is great guy and host ,very picky about his work - seen the work he does for his clients on the island, honest and trustworthy. Oh, and he didn't tell you about the turkey ,deer, fishing and lot more.
Btw. I shot my first deer on the island with Ed's help. Hope all goes well with the sale for you Ed.
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?

Thanks Martin. Unfortunately, the turkeys and rabbits are all gone... not by me.  >:(
