No on Elk, with 5 points. Can anyone explain why the state waits until the end of July to offer any surplus tags, when this is after the deadline for special hunts? Would seem like a better option to give anyone selected 30 days to pay, then offer them up.
some people that drew won't buy their multi season tag until they see the draw results for the special permits in May.

If wdfw would make people front the money like a lot of states do for out of state hunters you wouldn't have any left over tags.

WDFW needs to make it that all tags are upfront money for everyone.
If you are not drawn then refund it less the application fee.
Used to be that way for what are now OIL.

I always apply for multiseason deer, but I've only bought it about half of the times I've drawn.

They really should just offer it OTC.

Wont need my MS elk tag this year because I'll be busy cullin goats!   :chuckle:

It essentially is otc, other than the app fee.  They really should cut the permit numbers down to the same level as elk.

Yup but they won't, because all they care about is the money.  Would help our odds drastically

wdfw would never cut tags down to 1,000 permits or whatever the elk number is way to much money left on the table but I do agree that it should just go over the counter once they're gone they're gone.

I know they wont.  What is profitable for wdfw comes before what is right for our wildlife.

You may be able to buy the tag but not until after the special hunt draw. I want to apply for hunts with this tag. Pisses me off that so many apply and don't buy. You should have to pay up front to weed out the tire kickers.

Drew deer with zero points but that one always seems to be available before the season if you applied. Hopefully we have a season this year.
