" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Last summer we flew with Arctic Backcountry Flying Service out of Kotzebue. Quality outfit. They fly the western Brooks Range.

Here's what I would do.  Fly up to Anchorage, pop into Chilkoot Charlie's and find yourself a pilot just like Obi Wan and Luke did.  Over a few drinks, hammer out the details and leave the next morning.  From what I hear there are sheep pretty much everywhere and it should be an easy up, down and back to town.

My last trip up there, where I had to hire a flight service, I flew with Wright Air...  very professional. My pilot going in was actually Daniel from "The Last Alaskans" tv show...

I have heard really good things about these folks but have never gone with them.

This is some very good info from a trusted (by me anyway) source on Air Taxis out of Fairbanks..

it's really pretty simple. All we need is a catastrophic terrorist attack which will motivate him to join the Army. Quick zip through basic, jump school, ranger school, and learn Pashtun.  Then he can get stationed at Fort Richardson in Anchorage.  Wham bam resident  :chuckle:
