Well the little brownie I seen yesterday just gave me too good of a shot and the kids were wanting to get a closer look at him. 🤣 So I figured may as well not waste anymore vacation days. Save them for later this year. The new 6.5-300 preformed flawlessly as expected. So two days in and notched a 2020 49 Springer permit. Have seen upwards of 20 bears the last few weeks but nothing really stuck out to me as the One. Kids are happy and I am back at work already.
happen to know your elevation?

2850’-3000’ in the ball park. I’ve been watching a few the last couple weeks from about 2000’ on up 4700 though. Southern exposure and green grass is the ticket as usual.

Good deal!  Seems a little quiet on the bear board.  Only heard from 2 tag holders for Kelly Hill.  Maybe saving for the fall crowd?

We saw a few bears this weekend, nothing was close enough to shoot.  Did see picks of a nice brown colored boar killed. Blues unit

I was out this weekend checking some hillsides. Not a ton of greenery just yet. Saw no bears but found one fresh pile of crap

I’ve been in on 2 more springers down in Douglas and Kelly hill over the weekend. My brother missed one yesterday morning. Has the week off so maybe he’ll get lucky enough to scare one to death.

Well, I was headed up for 5 days of hunting today and this guy decided to wander out 100 yds off the road, small boar, but I needed to end my 3 yr bear drought so I took the easy one. Cool color on him anyway
