wow thats freakin awesome. i love libraries. they have some of the most random, but useful thing available to check out. ive heard of some libraries having powertools, cakepans, gopros, so many things you would never thing they would have.

Spokane Co has been doing for the last year and half as well.

8 Discover Passes are now available for a 1 -2 week checkout at the Whitman County Library. Passes allow you to visit state parks and other state lands. The passes are provided in partnership with Washington State Parks, Washington State Library, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Department of Natural Resources. The library is still closed, so you will need to call to request your discover pass. You can find their number below.

Maybe they just put a sticker on them and you write the plate number on that? Maybe they are special versions?- they say this is done in conjuncture with the Parks, WDFW, DNR.

I still don't like the fact that there is such a thing as a Discover Pass- but I think this is very cool that they at least offer this service.

Not to thread jack but has anyone had issues with not writing a plate number on theirs? I have had one a few times and never put my plate number on there

If a library can share one Discover pass with an unlimited number of people, I should be able to buy only one pass for my three vehicles, instead of buying two. Actually I think I currently have three. And, I should be able to share it with friends, neighbors, family, and anyone else who asks. The reason for the Discover pass is to raise money for state lands. A library sharing a pass defeats the whole purpose of the pass.

I realized after I posted that my comment was off topic. But yes parks would make some sense with maintenance costs etc but undeveloped DNR land is ridiculous. Anyways back to the topic my bad
