I don't think I'll be shad fishing this year.  Went last year at the area below the John Day dam.  Have fished it before at the same area.

Im Going to hit it friday , with the numbers increasing that way if you wait until the end of the week there should be a few hundred thousand a day going over .

Yep numbers starting to climb I think I will make a "crab bait" run Thursday.  I can't wait, fishing for shad is such a blast.

If anyone heads through Olympia with some extras I would really appreciate meeting up and grabbing some for bait.  Thanks!

WSU, if I go, you can have all mine. You've been helpful to me.

Sounds great!  I like to turn them into crabs and halibut!

I’d love to get a small stash (6-8?) for halibut bait, if anyone in south King county gets more than they need. Thanks.

This week blessed me with pan-fried shad roe with butter on toast, topped with an over easy egg.

Also, shad-roe mac and cheese.

Good eats.

If I get out again soon I think I'll go fancier next time and maybe do homemade ravioli stuffed with shad roe in a lemon butter sauce, or maybe those ravioli in a cream sauce with sundried tomatoes drizzled with white truffle oil.
