Cowiche Cow
«

After many years applying for cow tag being that I hunt elk with bow sometimes I would question the investment. After I saw the regulations this year and and moving close to the unit I was able to pull a late season cow tag. Not sure what to expect with limited pressure but hope to chase some elk around

I will be up there chasing spikes even with the change! Curious to see how the rule change effects the pressure.

You should be able to enjoy some quality elk hunting. Seriously.
Good luck!

Thank you guys a really appreciate it. I hope to scout and hike around this summer/fall. Does anyone know if black bear population is healthy? Any pointers for late season would be greatly appreciated.

You should expect similar pressure to years past. People will still be hunting spikes and deer. Bear population is very healthy as well as cougar but bear closes Nov 22 I believe.

Do you have the entire cowiche unit under the permit? There’s one very specific spot that holds elk almost Daily and isn’t that far into the unit lol.. I’m sure most guys who have been in the unit know exactly the area
