Banks Lake / Roosevelt lake ...... Camping advice
« on: June 27, 2020, 01:22:13 PM »
Hi folks -  Looking to take the family camping at Banks lake last week of July.

I don't know the area at all. Tried Steamboat Rock, it is booked. Any suggestions on a camp ground for a family, trailer, and a little boat? Kids are 3 and 6, swimming is a must!

Thanks!

I would avoid the coulee city park. It would be a nice place if it wasn’t overran With Russians.

Drive another hour to Lake Roosevelt. Several campgrounds up hwy 25, most with swimming beaches and first come first served. Rarely full, way less crowded than banks

Thanks for the advice.

Looking at NPS parks at Roosevelt....theyr'e all closed for the "Rona  :dunno:

I live over by Gig Harbor.   I'm open to where ever. Family friendly, beach, RV hookups, fishing out of a 12' boat and or yak.

I like the dry side just for a change of pace.

Did you check fishhook and charbonneau parks on the Snake? Used to camp and boat there when I was a kid.

Sun lakes/Dry falls. Can be cramped at the resort, but awesome with kids.Full amenities. No experience camping at the state park side.

I'd say Porcupine Bay on Spokane Arm of Lake Roosevelt, but all National Park camp grounds seemed to be closed :( we just returned from Seven Bays and Sun Lakes was definately open.

coulee playland. swimming area, docks to fish from. I would guess that getting a spot so close to the 4th is going to be challenging.

Two rivers tribal campground is open and day use swim beach at Fort Spokane is open.  Local rumor has it that the regular campgrounds on Roosevelt will be opening back up soon
