Wife wants a Taurus Judge. Opinions requested

She thinks it's cool and wants Me to get Her one.
Give me everything you got. I'm not a huge Taurus fan but also don't know much about them.
The 45LC/ 410 thing is pretty neat.
Thanks as always

They're the stupidest thing I've ever seen in a handgun, utterly worthless.  They don't shoot 45lc nearly as good as pretty much any dedicated 45lc revolver, and the 410 scatters so bad you've got about 3 feet of useful shot,  maybe for a snake, but most folks don't want to shoot a rattler point blank range

having said that, 4 pellet 000 buckshot would be really good out of that gun for self defense in a house

Had one about 10 yrs ago. Patterned poorly so sent it off to Ahlman's for choke tube installation. Still not good. The long cylinder makes for a pretty big package as well. I traded it off.  I thought it would make a fun grouse gun but find a .22 or my regular woods carry gun with powder puff rounds in the first couple of cylinders is more flexible.

I agree, I owned a Judge for about a month, took it out shooting a couple of times with friends then sold it for the same amount I bought it for.
I could find no use for it, and it was not really fun to shoot at all. It was a novelty.

I sold mine pretty quick.  Not a great gun IMO, and expensive to shoot

Happy wife, happy life. Good luck.

Your woman knows what a judge is? Sounds like a good wife.

Downside to anything 410 is that the ammo is more expensive than 12 or 20.

Get her a 20 gauge shockwave.

I guess it depends on what she wants it for.

I don't think it serves any particular purpose very well, but if she wants to blow up cans at camp, why not?

My dad has a Judge. My wife and I enjoyed shooting it. If your wife wants one then go for it. I second Widgeondeke on looking into the Governor. Taurus has a long history of poor workmanship.

Buy it!... If I had to tote a purse I would carry something ridiculous. If she doesn't like it, it's yours and she can move on to something else. My wife carrys a 38spl bodyguard. The day she wants a different flavor, she'll get no argument from me.   :chuckle:

Well I like the Judge, I also have a Circuit Judge. For hiking, around camp, under the pillow or in the car gun I think it has its place.

This type of gun had been around for years a 45/ 410 but none as successful as the Taurus Judge. It became so popular that several models are made today. And maybe the most popular handgun Taurus ever made. It may be one of the most popular handguns in America.

It took off so well Smith & Wesson tried to get in the frenzy with the Governor.

And until l the Judge came on the scene there was not much in 410 self defense loads. So all those offerings we have now were fueled by the judge.

The gun it’s self is appealing to many because of it wow factor , size, rubber grips.

For those who do t like it and sold it. It was a success, because you bought it.

Mine lives in my bedroom safe and goes along on every hunting or camping trip. Because of the Judge I ended up buying two Bonds.

And when you are standing in the sports store looking for your more popular rounds, and empty shelves, walk a little south and there is always 410 shells.

All the better guns you can list will do you zero good if you can’t find the ammo or because all the looters carry the same gun you do.

One of the reasons I built part of my survival plan around some 410 shooting guns.

OP by her what the wants several models to choose from. And they all go bang. :twocents:
