Ford dropped  the ball on this. Putting such a small power plant in a American classic redo is ridiculous. This thing is screaming for a 5.0! Not a Jeep killer and never will be.

Have you ever rode in their competitor (Wrangler)? Trust me, the 2.7 is far more potent. I own a ‘15 with the 3.6 and that thing is a gutless wonder.

I never mentioned a thing about the Jeep being a hot rod. I simply think they could of offered another power plant for it. The early bronco offered a 289 (V8) so if they are going to bring it back why not do it some justice and offer it with a V8 ?!

Emissions standards. Fuel economy.

The 2.7 makes more power than any engine a bronco ever came with, it just doesn’t sound right. Really that’s all it comes down to.  I’m not a big promoter of the 2.7 ecoboost, but for those of you who haven’t driven something with that engine in it, it’ll surprise you. It won’t sound right, but the power it makes will surprise you guys.

I love it. I told the wife it's time to sell the 4 door Wrangler and get a four door Bronco. Those eco boost motors are pretty impressive.

Wow that is a cool rig! I haven't been following it, but here is a Doug DeMuro video going over what is known, but a 3 cylinder on the sport base YUCK. Other than that this is car will sell!
I am not a Ford fan, but this one has me interested...

The 3.5 L ecoboost would be perfect for the lil bronco.  Never mind the twin turbo.    Drove the single turbo 3.5L in new f-150 and it hit 90 mph in 4th quite rapidly.  It had 6 gears left !!!!

I have 2 buddies that have F-150's.  One has the 5.0 and the other has the 3.5L with the twin turbo.  The 3.5L hands down gets up and goes like no truck I have ever been in.  The 5.0 is way behind the times.

The sport will be in next spring. The other 2 mid 2021.

Hahah it’s suppose to be the Jeep killer right?!?! Hard to do that when the tires on the Bronco say Wrangler!

I’ll bet they come out with a Limited Edition V8 version at some point.

I read the production models won’t have Wrangler on the side walls. I agree with throwingsticks about the 3.5 being the limited edition.

With wrangler on it, it’s destined  to get stuck or break down, but I’m a lil biased  :chuckle:
