Shrimp Fishing Westport Pier
« on: July 16, 2020, 04:57:16 PM »
Hey All,

I know you can get crab from the pier no problem, but can you get shrimp from the pier at all? I unfortunately don't have a boat so I can't go out deep where I know they would be. Just wondering if it's a waste of time at this point to try for shrimp too?

Pretty much a waste of time, spot shrimp pretty much inhabit water 150' and deeper, usually deeper than 200.  If it's open at night and legal (I have not idea), that might work as I have seen them scuba diving at night in the 45-60' range.

Thank you, I figured as much. I just don’t own a boat yet lol. If I did, I would go out for them and crabbing and fish in between. But my 6 year old wants to go crabbing this weekend. So the pier it is :).
