I’m 442 for deer elk combo. 2020 is a strange year, record applications ect. Makes me wonder if all those newbies will hunt or back out closer to season.

1373 and 1374. No way that was random?

Exactly, we are 1472 & 1473! No way it was randomized, as their website claims. I will be calling them (along with many others) Monday, to see if there is some sort of explanation.

Complete bull!

@ Fishmaker57 @ Connorw, Did you guys ( or anybody else with sequential numbers ) call Montana ? Curious to hear what they told you ?

So when do people usually start getting contacted? August September?
Can you be contacted in October?

you can be contacted up until the last day of the season. As a tag is returned it is then offered up to next in line.

Anything is possible.  I had 698 last year and got the call a week after 4th of July , buddy had 1015ish and got the call
Although year before a buddy was 287 and got the call 4 days before season ended.

They go surprisingly far sometimes because the names ahead of you can say no as well.  Some guys already have plans by the time they get the call.  Once the season starts some don't want to pay for a tag for a partial season too.

Usually yes.  Last year varied from a couple days in between to weeks .

So you can look on their website and it says what numbers they have called up so far?
