Am I alone here?
« on: July 28, 2020, 09:19:38 PM »
So I've broken arrows and have not so much as batted an eye when it happens.

This past weekend I missed the target completely and sent the arrow into the abyss of Ft.Lewis shrubbery.

I have 17 other arrows just like it but it's soul burning.

Anyone else feel that way??

😂😂😂

I feel ya.  The first time I Robin Hooded an arrow, I was pumped for about 5 seconds, then I thought "wait, that just cost me $25"!  I do cringe a little when a target is missed and the brush behind the target russles.

I can live with Robin hooding one but seeing it miss low and then the subsequent search after and trying to find the exact angle and area it could be in is maddening especially when you know it's nearby

I have 1 arrow that is buried in my perfectly manicured lawn! It’s like a magic trick! I cannot find it and I saw it go in!

I'm color blind so I always end up calling in the wife for backup. The absolute worst is when you hear it skip, I usually find them but it's typically with the lawn mower or tractor

Yeah, it bugs me to lose or damage them. It makes practicing at 100 yards a little panic inducing because there's time enough after the shot to think "shouldn't I have heard it hit by now" before I actually hear it hit the target. But on the bright side, when I do shoot that far the arrow is coming down at enough of an angle that it doesn't bury itself under the sod when I do miss.

Unfortunately the metal detector wasn't much help as there are millions of pieces of clay pigeons throughout the brush and they have iron in them. Also the one I was using was pretty *censored*ty and it even gave a hit when I held it up in the air. I thought oh man we have incoming 😂😂😂

I don't lose arrows too often but breaking them really gets to me.  Easy when you have 12 no to worry but as soon as I have 11 my mind messes with me!

Have farmed up a fair number, seems most do not look.  Have helped find some, not unusual for searcher to be 90 degrees off so finding is often a team sport.

I've used my metal detector more than a couple times to find buried arrows in my pasture.

Metal detector is awesome idea. Will have to try that. I have lost two and it hurt. I think I have broken two, but they went through deer so it didn't hurt as bad.

Go figure, who would have thought that archery hunting would cost more than hunting with fire arms. It was cheep when I was young.

I did a new Tcam setup this year, have checked it twice, on the 3rd check the wife was with me and said have you not seen this arrow?  Low and behold it was one of my arrows that I had shot at a grouse 2 years ago.....only ten feet from the tree the cam was in.  :bash: :bash: don't know how I didn't see it sooner.  :o

My wife calls it man looking. Like when you cant see the case of beer in the fridge, sitting right in front.
