Me either, but I called WDFW on how to buy the tag (I was drawn) and they told me that I had to buy it by July 31 (yesterday) because they go on sale Aug. 1.

The WDFW hasn't put out any kind of notification yet as to when they will go on sale. They probably won't even know until Monday if there are any leftovers.

Anybody know if WDFW let's you give back your tags?

I emailed them with the question, but doubt I'll hear back soon.  Long story, but I won't be using my multi-season this year due to the move.  Nor the special permit I drew.  So much for those plans.  Crazy how fast life can change.

Would be nice if they could reallocate my multiseason tag into the leftover pool of tags....

From what I understand you needed to surrender your general tag to an authorized point of sale before wdfw closed on Friday, that or submit an email stating your intentions to purchase the MS tag by midnight the 31st of July and on Monday anyone that contacted them via email will have their general tag cancelled and then have the opportunity to purchase the MS tag at a point of sale or online.

I asked about the left over deer and elk MS tags and when they will be available and this is the email I got from the Montesano office of wdfw.

"Thank you for contacting the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The exact day of sales for the leftover elk multi-season tags has not yet been announced (usually mid August). Our licensing and wildlife departments are working out the details and will announce the information in a news release and on our website soon."

Last year the date they went on sale was August 22nd

All years previous “IF “you weren’t drawn you get a email stating you can buy a multi season deer tag and you gotta call as soon as the opening day when they open sometimes there are a ton of tags and you could get one in September .but elk you you gotta be Johnny on the spot and get real lucky to get a extra one

If we didn't surrender our deer tag by Friday we are unable to buy any of the leftover multi-season tags that will go on sale?

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. We don't even know yet if there are any leftovers.

It was for those that got drawn and wanted to purchase the tag but already had their general season tag. They needed to have emailed the dfw by midnight Friday of their intension  so dfw could cancel their GS tag on monday in order to purchase the MS tag after that.

The leftover tags are a whole different animal and will go on sale to those who didn't get drawn and you will surrender your GS deer tag at the time of the MS tag purchase or possibly email the dfw to cancel your GS tag and order a MS tag online.

I talked to a woman today at WDFW, she said everyone who applied for a multi season deer tag would receive an email that would tell them when any surplus tags would be available.
