exotic meats

Guys, we are all missing the boat on where the money is in trapping.
https://www.exoticmeatmarkets.com/
Check out the prices. You will swallow your snus if you chew. If you don't chew I guess your jaw will drop.
The one that made me laugh, Only 29.99 for a set of coyote testicles.  The perfect Christmas gift. :chuckle:
Got an in-law you never want see again. Christmas dinner will never be the same again. :EAT:
Could go for something more mundane. A dressed Guinea Pig is only $39.99. What a bargain!

No way I’m paying $200 for a dressed opossum when I can drive down my gravel road and run one over for  free ......

When I was trapping in North Carolina I always had meat orders for raccoons, muskrat, opossum, and beaver. I made good money selling meat.

If you could corner the market that's great haha but I have a hard time getting people to try beaver unless I tell them it's beef  :chuckle: then they want seconds

I didn't know there was much demand for testicles  :chuckle: but it looks like you could make some money selling meat and parts of animals we trap.

When I was buying fur in the Midwest in the late 70's a few of the country dealer I bought from shipped out regularly 40 foot refer vans of coon carcasses; that's the main reason they wanted to buy the coon in the round.

We tried lynx in Alaska made  "hassenfeffer"(rabbit) or as "Cattzenfeffer".  It was OK, so were beaver and muskrat.  Some members of my family didn't try them.

When we came to WA state I was told that we have to save mountain lion meat.  Is that true?

I would not consider Armadillo unless we were starving.  They can carry the germs of Hansen's disease---Leprosey.

yes, you are required to take the meat from a cougar.  But you can give it away if you want.  Just pm me if you get one, i know a guy who will take it.   :hello:

Cougar are so good eating it would be worth hunting them just for their meat. You'd be amazed how much meat there is on the front half of the body as compared with the back half. Kind of opposite of how a ungulate is built.
