Looks like he hit the ground hard, then aspirated blood causing a little foam on his lower lip? :dunno:

This was an OTC late rifle idaho antlerless hunt this year. Super pumped to have the quarters hanging. Can’t wait to fill the freezer with this deliciousness.

Cool great looking elk. grats
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Some nice bulls in this thread

Alright y'all, I wasn't able to spend much time going after elk in early season muzzly and only saw cows (3+ unit). Didn't get an elk in Idaho either. Saw elk, just no bulls, and my sweet spot was going to be too sketchy to hike up into after it got snow. So, this isn't another "I'm not looking for your sweet spot thread" cause this is a 'PM me your sweet spot thread'  :chuckle: Lat/long or 10, or even 8 digit grid works   Hopefully I'll find something legal for late season and can post here. Keep up the awesome pics!
