Even a blind squirrel finds a nut...
« on: September 25, 2020, 01:42:59 PM »

Took our new - to - us rv to Potholes for a  shakedown trip. Got it set up, then unloaded my bike, strapped the pole and dad’s old tackle box to the rack and rode off looking for a good place to plunk a bit. Eventually I found a nice spot to sit a while, and looked in the tacklebox. Basically nothing. There were some old stale Berekely purple mini grubs so I stuck one on a jighead and flung it into the deep. Nada for a while but then whammo, my little 5 1/2’ takedown spinner rig bent like a rainbow, reel screaming!  4# Trout, no net, slide it on the bank! 15 minutes later a twin hits again! Fortunately I had a little twine to make a stringer to hang on the handlebar to ride back to the campsite. You shoulda heard the comments as I rode back to the RV. Hope this is a good omen for the new rig!

Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.
