That's a good blacktail Screed. Hoping for a lot more great memories for you ahead with that equipment.

Screedler

Tough losing your pop and mentor. I recently lost mine also. Its so rewarding using his gear, especially his old stuff " 30/40 Craig, Morseth knife" etc. keeps him with you on your hunts

Nice Buck too

Screedler, that's a great post! An awesome tribute to your dad. I just lost my mom to a 5 yr battle with cancer on Thursday.  And I was exposed to covid on Wednesday afternoon.  I obviously missed out on deer hunting this weekend.  Been super rough not being at our cabin with family. Luckily i got my wife and two kids quarantined with me. At any rate thanks for the post. Picked me up a little bit this am!

The snow was down below 2,000' on Friday night and Saturday, then started to melt up the hill on Sunday.  On Monday, it was still well below freezing up high so the snow was still light and fluffy, but that started to melt in the direct sun by Monday afternoon.  Imagine by Tuesday everything in the sun was crunchy.  But above 3500' or so, still lots of snow.
