Trappers win in OR, sort of

CBODs petition to ban beaver trapping on Federal lands defeated but pretty depressing that the Commission was split on this.

Hmmm seems that article was written by someone very anti, using the guise of "science" to make there argument. Can't expect a whole lot from Oregon the anti... capitol. Bruce did you see the farmers tractor parades in denmark? Protesting the illegal slaughter of the mink farms?

Sounds like it could put them out of business permanently. What I read, they had no legal authority to order the mink destroyed. Jays probably got a second job in Denmark.
I wonder how close to prime they are? The pictures I saw many looked pelted.

It's a ridiculous idea anyone who knows anything about beaver knows the State would have to eventually PAY trappers to trap beaver to REDUCE flooding of roads and buildings, the interdiction of salmon streams and the flooding of habitat restoration efforts. Just thinking out loud now - Oregon trappers might want to ask the tribes to sound off about this. The Commission would likely listen to them because in PNW politics the tribes are 'more equal' than other groups.
