SWEET!  I taped the ear tip to tip max on many mule deer and 27" is as big as I've seen.

The funniest was 13" - has lost the outer half of both ears, likely to frostbite.  Shot by a VERY selective hunter I visited with over at least 12 years, he had the grace to laugh at himself - he jumped the buck out of his bed just feet away, saw he was at LEAST 4" past his ears on both sides and took a snap shot - killed  A YOUNG BUCK that was all of 21" outside.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Beautiful buck
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.
