Thank you to you guys that control the varmit population. I do shoot the occasional porcupine and weasel or badger over the years and obviously a few yotes every year. But you guys are are really putting your time in on them and I appreciate that commitment.  :tup:

Random question but are we aloud to shoot badgers?  I see them often where I hunt always wanted to mount one

FYI: Weasels and badgers are classified as furbearers and may only be taken with a trapping license while using approved methods listed in the trapping regs.
Just because someone decides to call an animal a "varmint" doesn't mean it's open season to kill them upon sight.
Just saying.

Correct with one exception. Weasels and Badgers can be taken if they are considered a nuisance animal like killing your chickens or burrowing under your house.
Shoot one for the fur, taxidermy or for the heck of it. You broke the law.
You can dispatch legally trapped animals with a firearm.

I shot one Badger 30 years ago that was killing chickens on my buddies Grandfathers place in Montana. Mostly all the ranchers property that we’ve hunted on over the years ask us if we would shoot all the varmints we see as a favor. But I don’t specifically target them like you guys are doing.

You can shoot badger or trap badger year round in Idaho for any reason not just depredations. Just an FYI for guys hunting Idaho
