Bow Mount Trolling Motor for Walley
« on: December 09, 2020, 12:24:45 AM »
Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I would like to buy a compass steer bow mount motor, with key fob and without the need for depth finder connectivity. Thank You

Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

Several new options for you like the Garmin or Lowrance, but I'd stick with the Minnkota recommendation. I run a 36v Motorguide and it has a ton of power, but specifically for walleye type fishing, I'd rather have a Minnkota. :twocents:

Really depends on your rig...but from what you are describing, check out the MinnKota Terrova. That should suit your needs just fine and comes in 24v and 36v and varying shaft lenghts.

I would never fish without a minnkota again. I have the 24v 80lb on a 16.5’ smokercraft and its perfect. They are becoming very popular. I use it for everything.

I second this or it might thirds it by now. Terrova with the I pilot, just do it. Got mine on a 21' Boulton, love it!

I'm not sure how we even caught fish before ipilot. Seriously you will spend a lot more time fishing than messing around trying to steer your boat and rig or bait up at the same time.

some cool new options out there but the Terrova/I-Pilot combo is solid. Been using for walleye for some time. Fishing 4 rods off two downriggers in crowded sockeye water with young and newbs on the boat, the Terrova actually makes it enjoyable.
Albacore, the better white meat.

Spot lock is awesome as well. Lock up on a deep school of perch, or some Lakers in Chelan. Bye-bye marker buoys!

My favorite feature. Forget about needing anchors when bobber fishing or plunking. Set, fish, move, repeat as needed.
