Where in The Keys are you staying or planning to be? I have a spot but, it’s not for flies.

Captain Jack Carlson who owns Two Conchs charters is the best down there. He doesn’t specialize in fly fishing, but can do it for reef and wreck fishing. He doesn’t do flats fishing though. If you want bonefish and permit on the flats try to find a guide in the lower keys, Marathon or Big Pine area. Less crowded flats then elsewhere. All the guides I have fished with down there are now retired, but there are lots to choose from. Maybe call a tackle shop for references.
There is not enough wilderness left in the world, or in the hearts of men.

Have you never been to The Keys or just don’t know what you’re saying? “Staying there” is not a location within The Keys.

I have never been there and I dont quite know what I am saying half the time anyways  :chuckle: I am trying to plan a family spring break trip and have heard about fishing in the keys that is the extent of my knowledge on the florida keys. Technically we could stay anywhere down there as long as its available but again I have never been there so I dont know what I am talking about open to suggestions on where to stay also. I am just shooting from the hip on this trip and Its beetween Kaui or Florida for spring break but we need to get something probably planned right away.

The Florida Keys are a very interesting place.  I was stationed in Key West in the military, and enjoyed the fishing there immensely.  The Keys have a very interesting history, and I would suggest taking time to do all of the touristy stuff.
