Just thought I''d toss this out there and see where it goes. I made a couple pack frames out of some old fir 1x6 fence boards with the idea in mind for wall mounts. No canvas or straps, just the frame, 28" X 16.5" X 2.5", tapered 16.5" at the bottom and 13.5" at the top. The fresh looking wood from the saw cut on the cross pieces I put so it's facing up and hopefully not noticeable while on the wall. I suppose a person could stain or do something to make it look aged. I'm would like to start with $45 a pack and see how that goes. Located in Kingston
